Karen Vance’s life long art quest includes studies at the Art Institute of Chicago, Village Art School in Skokie, Illinois, Northern Illinois University, Loveland  Art Academy, and Denver Art Students League in Colorado. Her art career includes 14 years as a graphic artist/illustrator and the past 32 years creating fine art professionally. Vance’s paintings hang in the permanent collections of The Whitney Western Art Museum in Cody, Wy, The Colorado Governor’s Mansion, The University of Denver, Wells Fargo Bank Corporation in Denver, First Interstate Bank Corporation in Billings Montana, The Arlberg Club in Winter Park, Colorado, Solaris Resort, in Vail Colorado, Devil’s Thumb Ranch Resort, in Tabernash, Colorado, and The Waterford Estate, Curraughmore Castle, in Ireland, UK.

Vance is an Emeritus Signature Member of Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters, and Master Signature Member of American Woman Artists and Plein Air Artists Of Colorado.

Awards include: The William E. Weiss purchase award, Best Painting, and People’s Choice Award at the Buffalo Bill Art Show, Best Painting and Arlene Hooker Fay Award at the C. M.Russell Auction, Best of Show at the Colorado Governor’s Invitational, Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters Show, Nomades del Arte, and the Award of Excellence from Women Artists of the West.
