Kathy Wipfler – Wyoming Point of View
“I came to Jackson in 1980 with an empty French Easel – empty because I was not sure what to put inside. I wanted to learn to paint on location, which is all the rage now, plein air painting. With some good advice from John Clymer and Conrad Schwiering, Skip Whitcomb & Hollis Williford, I embarked on the struggle to create competent paintings from nature. My focus has been the current and historical western lifestyle, which I also live, riding many miles with the real deal cowboys of western Wyoming. I am in hopes that my work resonates with people who know and revere the natural world in the great state of Wyoming and beyond.
