Artist Statement
As a ceramicist I create both functional and sculptural work utilizing both wheel and hand-built techniques. The designs displayed on my ceramic works are what give the piece detail and meaning. My works reflect my Crow tribal heritage. I draw on culturally significant designs to explore meaning. To still incorporate a sense of my own views and personality I choose to use bright colors that are used in my Crow culture in different art forms that make them significant and identified as Native Crow art. I love working hands-on building and forming pieces while staying connected to my culture. This can be found in all my works.
