Bio

My name is Katie Bernard, I am an artist based out of the Black Hills. I enjoy art of all mediums, especially charcoal, ceramics, and both acrylic and oil paint. I began creating as soon as I was able to – often finger painting or making sculptures out of the mud in the backyard. As I have grown, so has my love for the arts, and I decided to pursue a degree in the fine arts at Black Hills State University, where I am currently studying. There is often a theme of hyperrealism and surrealism in my work- I enjoy capturing the minute details of patterns that occur in real life, but I also enjoy capturing the minute details of my imagination. My art is a deeply personal craft, I put my heart and soul into every piece. I feel blessed every time I have the opportunity to share that part of myself with others.
