Lee Helvey’s Enormous Cottonwood Tree
“This is down the street from the farmhouse where we stayed. I fell in love with the size and beauty of this tree and painted it in the morning light. What a charming and welcoming woman Lee is. I was in another world while painting this.
The Silver Spur Cafe in Sheridan
“This is an oil portrait in Genre style of Bill and Kathy Harris from Sheridan the couple that introduced me to Sheridan/Big Horn a few years ago, after I completed a Portrait of Bill while in Connecticut. They invited me to come to Wyoming to varnish his painting and I fell in love with Sheridan, Big Horn, and all the people I had met. I vowed to return with a group of artists from the Northeast that I knew would also love the area to paint and visit. I have met so many wonderful people since that trip that made such an impression on me. People who were kind, thoughtful, generous, and opened their hearts to us. Our one month stay at the old farmhouse owned by Pete and Charlotte Boyle in Big Horn filled us with inspiration, energy for painting, and taught us all so much. I really felt like home.”
View of the Bighorn Mountains
“This painting is a pastel and was inspired by the colors of the sunset and in the mountains. So warm and wonderful to watch a moving painting each night.“
