December 10, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
The Brinton Museum and The Sheridan Press invite you to celebrate the 150th anniversary of women’s suffrage in Wyoming on Dec. 10 at The Brinton Museum.
The evening centers around the northern premiere of “State of Equality,” a Wyoming PBS documentary that explores how Wyoming territory passed the first law in United States history recognizing women’s right to vote and hold office on Dec. 10, 1869. A simulcast screening will take place in Cheyenne, the location of the historic ratification. After the documentary, a panel of Wyoming experts will discuss the past, present, and future of women in the state.
During the cocktail hour, you will have the chance to meet several of the inspiring subjects from “Year of Wyoming Women,” a monthly series featured in The Sheridan Press throughout 2019. Complimentary hors d’ouevres will be offered alongside a cash bar throughout the evening.
This event is free and open to all, many thanks to Jacomien Mars. Seating will be limited; complimentary tickets will be released on Oct. 10 at 5:30 p.m.
