The Brinton Museum hosts an educational lecture on local bird migration by Jackie Canterbury, ornithologist and Bighorn Audubon Society president, on Sunday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m. in the 3rd floor Jacomien Mars Reception Gallery. Jackie will give a multimedia presentation of her new book Common Birds of The Brinton Museum and Bighorn Mountains Foothills which she co-authored with Dr. Paul A. Johnsgard, published by Zea Books, University of Nebraska – Lincoln. This is the first photo guide featuring birds of The Brinton area. This 65-page, highly-detailed book profiles 48 of the most abundant, typical and interesting local birds, and includes species accounts, information on songs and calls, and a calendar of seasonal occurrence. Exquisite color photographs for easy bird identifications of common birds found in the region add to the overall beauty of this important publication. Common Birds of The Brinton Museum and Bighorn Mountains Foothills is available for purchase in The Brinton Museum Store. A book signing on Sunday by Jackie Canterbury follows her lecture presentation. The lecture and book signing are free for members and included in the price of regular admission for non-members.
