Friday, October 11 Michael LaFromboise, Blackfeet Tribal historian will lecture on Blackfeet history/culture, including insights on the Blackfeet War Shirt & Leggings and the Blackfeet Grizzly Bear Shirt on exhibit in The Brinton Museum’s To Honor The Plains Nations American Indian Gallery
About LaFromboise: Michael LaFromboise has been serving as the Native American Studies Department Governance Instructor for Salish Kootenai College. He holds a Masters of Education from Montana State University Northern. He has held the capacity of Piikani Studies Division Head at Blackfeet Community College. He is an American Indian College Fund Andrew B Mellon Fellow in research on Blackfoot ceremonial process. He is a member of the Brave Dog society and is involved in all of the ceremonial activities that Blackfoot people practice including Medicine Lodge (Sun Dance), Thunder Medicine Pipe, Beaver Bundle and is the caretaker of the Black Tailed Deer dance bundle that Piikani people have adopted from the Salish and Kootenai peoples.
Following the lecture The Brinton Bistro will host a ticketed, prix fixe dinner.
The lecture is FREE and open to the public.
Doors open at 5:00pm with a cash bar available
