The Brinton Museum welcomes the nation’s foremost popular culture and political portrait artist Everett Raymond Kinstler and his exhibition, Journeys West And Beyond, from May 1 to July 4, 2016 in the S.K. Johnston, Jr. Family Gallery. A portrayer of more than 50 U.S. cabinet officials as well as a myriad of Hollywood stars and athletes over a period that spans five decades, Kinstler spearheads the museum’s impressive 2016 lineup of well-known artists.

The Museum will open the exhibition with a live portrait demonstration by the artist (a ticketed event) and artist’s reception on Sunday, May 1. Portraits on display include Alan K. Simpson, Ronald Reagan and Forrest E. Mars, Sr. among many others. Kinstler began his career in the early 1950s and became well known for his pulp illustrations and comic book work covering many different genres, including western, romance, crime, mystery and war. A selection of these pop culture pieces are included in “Journeys West And Beyond” at The Brinton Museum.

Kinstler’s work includes artist Alexander Calder, the author Tom Wolfe (included in the exhibition), countless presidents including Ronald Reagan (included in the exhibition), George H. W. Bush, and Bill Clinton, actors as renowned as  John Wayne, Clint Eastwood and Katherine Hepburn (included in the exhibition), and musicians like his close friend Tony Bennett (also included in the exhibition).

To kick off the weekend with Ray Kinstler, the Museum is hosting a “Dinner with the Artist” on Saturday, April 30, beginning at 5:30 PM with cocktails, dinner at 6:30 PM at $75/person.  Space is limited to 50 guests, so please sign up soon!
