May 11 - August 25
Seen & Said represents the culmination of ideas that have been growing in the artist’s studio for over twenty years and includes nearly fifty finished works in oil and watercolor of thought provoking and contemplative studies. Martin describes his paintings as “Oil Poems” and “Watercolor Poems.” As part of the creative process, Garhart creates his own meticulous and carefully constructed frames for each work. An Artist’s Reception takes place on May 10.
“We live our lives in the confluence of our physical and mental worlds. These two worlds occur simultaneously, sometimes they maintain the same focus, sometimes not. But either way they are
contained in the self. I am interested in making paintings that are about this phenomenon”.
Martin Garhart (American, b. 1946)
