The Brinton Museum presents The Brinton Leather Show, an international exhibition featuring eight master artisans of the prestigious Traditional Cowboy Arts Association (TCAA) and twelve Guest Artists. A nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the standard of time-honored craftsmanship in the cowboy arts, the TCAA promotes the disciplines of silversmithing, rawhide braiding, bit & spur making, and saddlemaking, and the roles they play in the culture of the North American West.

The Brinton’s exhibit showcases nearly fifty exquisite works by twenty talented artists whose pieces illustrate the fine art of leatherworking, superb bits & spurs, finely engraved belt buckles inlaid with gold and silver as well as intricately braided quirts and bosals, made by artisans from around the area and beyond, including Texas, Montana, Idaho and Arizona as well as Canada and Argentina.

The Brinton Leather Show opens to visitors on April 29th. A reception to meet the artists takes place on Friday, May 18, from 5 to 7 PM. Friday’s event is free and open to the public. This exhibit continues in the third floor Jacomien Mars Reception Gallery through June 8th.
