I am a native of the Northwest but had to find my artistic compass in the Midwest and eventually the East Coast.  But what goes around comes around and I found my way back to the Northwest about 30 years ago and realized that drawing the history and wildlife of this area is a rich and bountiful journey.  I’m primarily a human figure artist but have always loved drawing and painting wildlife.

I spent two years at Washington University in St. Louis studying fine art, particularly figure drawing.  I then spent five years in New Jersey, three of which I attended The Joe Kubert School to become a comic book artist.  I found that I had a difficult time drawing in those tiny panels but what I really loved was drawing the figure.  Since then I’ve been in a variety of art-related jobs but always defaulting to drawing figures and a variety of animals.  I guess I found my bliss.” Joseph Booth
