T. Allen Lawson – 2020 Brinton 101

The recipient of several prestigious awards, Wyoming artist Tim Lawson from Sheridan is featured in a retrospective exhibit of his paintings on loan from private collections in the region as well as new work recently finished. Lawson studied art at the American Academy of Arts in Chicago and later at Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts at Old Lyme, Connecticut. He describes his work as “a discipline of patiently observing and studying the often unnoticed rhythms and subtleties of his surroundings.” It’s his superb handling of light and color, of recognizing the beauty in the mundane that brings to life the subjects of his oils.
