In conjunction with the exhibition Shadow & Light: Native American Printmakers from the Crow’s Shadow Institute of the Arts
Date: Saturday, September 20
Location: Sheridan College
About the Event
Join printmaker Brittney Denham Whisonant for Shadow & Light, a special Fall into Art program presented in conjunction with the exhibition Shadow & Light: Native American Printmakers from the Crow’s Shadow Institute of the Arts.
The event begins with a live demonstration of relief printmaking, where Whisonant will showcase the step-by-step process of carving, inking, and printing. Following the demonstration, participants are invited to take part in a hands-on workshop to explore the fundamentals of relief printmaking themselves. Under Whisonant’s guidance, guests will learn safe carving techniques, inking methods, and how to create bold, expressive prints.
This program highlights the creative interplay of light and shadow in printmaking while connecting to the themes of the Shadow & Light exhibition.
Free and open to the public. Space is limited. Registration required.
The Fall into Arts series is supported by The Nickerson Family Foundation with additional support from the Edwin T. Meredith Foundation and the Tucker Foundation and:
