Her View: Women Artists in the Collection

October 30 - December 22

The Brinton Museum presents Her View: Women Artists in the Collection, featuring an exhibition of art by more than 40 women artists represented in the permanent collection, bringing to light the wide array of women who collectively have made an enormous contribution to the arts, and who individually give voice to the creative spirit.

Included in the 55 works on display are modern intaglios by the Ukrainian-born artist Ludmila Dranchak who was inspired by Pablo Picasso; a monotype Neither Meek nor Mindless V by the American abstract expressionist artist and philanthropist Neltje; and mixed-media works by contemporary Apsáalooke (Crow) artist Wendy Red Star. Photographer Barbara Van Cleve’s photographs, Noon Break, and Chinks, Oxbow and Jinglebobs, as well as a historical photograph by Jessamine Spear Johnson of Bradford Brinton’s Buffalo Bill Stagecoach are part of the women in arts celebration.

A Member Meet-Up! Gallery Talk led by Curatorial Director Jochen Wierich and Curator of Exhibitions (retired) Barbara McNab takes place on November 1 at 10 AM. Registration for this event can be made online.

This exhibition and related programs are funded in part with generous support from the Edwin T. Meredith Foundation, Tucker Foundation and:
