James F. Jackson: Legacy in Art and Leather Rocky Mountain Leather Trade Show Reception
Join The Brinton Museum for a special reception celebrating James F. Jackson: Legacy in Art and Leather, held in conjunction with the Rocky Mountain Leather Trade Show, Sheridan’s annual gathering of leather artists, craftspeople, and enthusiasts.
This evening offers visitors an opportunity to experience the exhibition while welcoming members of the leatherworking community who travel to Sheridan each year for this important event. The exhibition brings together a wide range of Jackson’s paintings, carved and tooled leather, and works that merge both disciplines—highlighting a career defined by technical mastery, structural rigor, and creative independence.
From modernist-inspired compositions to intricately tooled Sheridan-style leather, the exhibition reveals the depth and breadth of Jackson’s lifelong exploration of form, ornament, and visual metaphor.
Guests will have the opportunity to experience the exhibition in the company of fellow artists, collectors, and members of the leatherworking community as The Brinton celebrates Jackson’s lasting influence on the tradition of Western leather craftsmanship.
This exhibit is supported by:
