Join The Brinton Museum for the opening reception of The Unfinished War: The Battle of the Little Bighorn in Native American Art, presented in conjunction with the 150th anniversary of the battle.
During the evening, Curatorial Director Jochen Wierich will offer brief remarks about the exhibition. Rhonda Holy Bear (Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe) will also present a talk connecting her artwork and family history to the Battle of the Little Bighorn.
Holy Bear is a nationally recognized Lakota artist known for her intricately beaded figurative sculptures rooted in Plains traditions. Her work explores Lakota history, family memory, and cultural storytelling, and is held in the collections of major institutions including the Art Institute of Chicago and the Heard Museum.
