Zak Pullen: 21st Illustrator Show
Opening Reception: Thursday, February 5 | 5–7 PM
The Brinton Museum is pleased to present Zak Pullen: 21st Illustrator Show, featuring the award-winning picture-book illustrator whose bold, character-driven artwork has appeared in The New York Times Book Review, Sports Illustrated, Communication Arts, and numerous celebrated children’s books. Known for his expressive paintings and narrative detail, Pullen has illustrated titles such as The Toughest Cowboy, The Christmas Ass, and his highly anticipated forthcoming book A Home for Steamboat, a richly imagined tale inspired by Wyoming’s legendary bucking horse.
This exhibition brings together original illustrations from The Christmas Ass and A Home for Steamboat, along with additional works that highlight Pullen’s distinctive style and storytelling. Throughout the run of the show, The Brinton Museum will partner with Pullen to offer special programming for regional schools, including gallery talks, demonstrations, and conversations about illustration, process, and visual storytelling. These school tours provide students with a unique opportunity to meet the artist, explore how picture books are created, and engage directly with original artwork.
