Kathy came to Jackson, Wyoming in 1980 with an empty French Easel – empty because, in her words, “I was not sure what to put inside. I wanted to learn to paint on location, which is all the rage now, plein air painting.”  With excellent good advice from John Clymer, Conrad Schwiering, Skip Whitcomb and Greg McHuron, Wpfler embarked in the struggle to create competent paintings from nature.

Her focus has been the current and historical Western lifestyle, riding many miles with the real deal cowboys of western Wyoming.

“I am in hopes that my work resonates with people who know and revere the natural world in the great State of Wyoming, and beyond.”
