SHOW APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Applicants will be notified by February 1 of the committee’s decision.

Please be aware that exhibitions are planned 3 years in advance.

The Brinton Museum’s Exhibitions Committee meets in December of each year to review the work of artists interested in showing with this institution. Below are requirements to be considered for review.  Please indicate in your application submission whether the application is being made for a one-person show or inclusion in a group show.

For a one-person show

Artists interested in exhibiting work for a one-person show should submit a minimum of 18 digital, individual images, and not more than 24, with each image identified with the artist’s name, title of the work, date, medium and size. An artist’s resume inclusive of education information and exhibition experience is also required.

A brief but detailed prospectus about the theme and/or subject-matter, including its concept and content, the number of works to be exhibited and a description of the educational value should also be submitted. Provide a timeline for the availability of the exhibit material.

For inclusion in group shows

Artists interested in exhibiting work for inclusion in a group show (such as The Brinton 101 Small Works Show or the Bighorn Rendezvous Exhibit & Quickdraw) should submit a minimum of 12 digital, individual images, and not more than 24, of current work with each image identified with the artist’s name, title of the work, date, medium and size. An artist’s resume inclusive of education information and exhibition experience is also required.

The Brinton Museum reserves the right to withhold an artist’s submission if the artist does not submit application materials as required above.

Submit application materials (digital only) to Curatorial Assistant Tyshon Bird at tbird@thebrintonmuseum.org

All materials need to be received by December 1.

Do you have a favorite artist who is represented in The Brinton’s collections? Would you like to see pieces by that artist that are currently not on display? Artists can make an appointment with the collections department to see works by specific artists.
