Elaine DeBuhr is currently in her 19th year as full time Associate Professor of Art and 11th year as Chairperson for Visual & Performing Arts and Humanities at Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming.  Previously, she was Adjunct Faculty and Ceramics Studio Technician at the Oregon College of Art and Craft in Portland, OR.

Elaine earned her BA from Macalester College, MA, and MFA from the University of Iowa and additionally, studied ceramic techniques in Ghana, W. Africa, and Korea.  She teaches ceramics courses, 3D Design, First Year Seminar, and Field Studies courses along with serving as faculty advisor to the NWC Student Art Club and NWC Student Japanese Club. Every other year, Elaine coordinates the “Empty Bowls” project to fight hunger in the greater Powell community.
