Sheridan artist of 35 years, Cindy Mohseni, spent her formative years in Ojai, California exploring the chaparral and flora of the coastal hills.

In painting “The West Front“, I tried to maximize the light by scratching down through the paint to reveal the transparent stain previously laid beneath in order to create the effect of the light emanating from within.

For ‘Upper Ojai‘, I basically flipped the approach and rolled the opaque paint over the surface, having the light roll over the coastal hills. ” Cynthia Mohseni
