In 1966 I moved with my two children from New York City to a ranch in rural Wyoming. This created a monumental change in my life.  I’d left places I’d lived all my life, following my thirst for the breadth of the landscape, the vastness of the space and the easy way of being.  At first I could only find time for my art in small patches.  Over the years the patches of freedom to paint increased to a more satisfactory size. Eventually, there was enough time for me to delve into painting in a professional way. I can now work with my whole emotional being at the forefront.” Neltje

Mixed media and collages are fun opportunities for me. I love to assemble color, form and texture and these smaller works allow me to do so in an intimate manner.” Neltje
