February 6 - April 7
The Brinton Museum is proud to present its 20th Illustrator Show featuring Apsáalooke/Crow artist Linda Pease from Billings, Montana. This exhibition opens February 6 in the S.K. Johnston, Jr. Family Gallery and continues through April 7.
Linda Pease comes from a remarkable lineage of artists spanning eight generations. Her art keeps the stories of the Apsáalooke People alive, drawing on childhood memories, cultural traditions, and significant moments in history. Using oils, acrylics, watercolors, mixed-media materials, and antique ledger paper, Pease tells visual stories of battles, ceremonies, dances, and the strength of family.
In “Remembered Well”, Pease reflects on loss and resilience, depicting families searching for hope amidst tragedy. Meanwhile, her work “Kaa’le’s Kitchen” offers a heartwarming look at her grandmother’s kitchen—a place of warmth, prayer, and community.
An Artist’s Reception will take place on Friday, March 14, from 5 to 7 PM. This event is free and open to the public.
School Tours
Linda Pease will be at The Brinton Museum on March 12, 13, and 14 to lead student tours and discuss her work. These tours are free for schools, but advance scheduling is required.
