Birds of the Rocky Mountain Region II Call for Entry
Birds of the Rocky Mountain Region II
The Brinton Museum’s second juried art competition, running April 19 to June 29, 2025, celebrates the diversity of over 275 bird species found in the Rocky Mountain Region. Artists may submit up to 3 entries in eligible mediums such as oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, pastel, drawing, printmaking, bronze, glass, ceramics, stone, and mixed-media (no digital art or photography). Preference will be given to works that best capture the essence of these species through realism, abstraction, or contemporary interpretation.
All artwork must be for sale, with artists receiving 70% of the selling price and The Brinton Museum retaining a 30% commission. Three jurors will select up to 45 pieces for exhibition, including ornithologist L. Scott Johnson Ph.D., renowned artist James F. Jackson, and The Brinton Museum’s Curator of Exhibitions, Barbara J. McNab.
A color-illustrated catalog will accompany the show, featuring biographical details on participating artists and educational insights about the birds represented.
