“I have always loved learning new techniques and experimenting with new materials. As an artist we are given free rein to experiment, it drives us to find our individual voice. During our “Self Quarantine” period I chose to really set aside any self-doubt and truly experiment. These pieces to me represent a more direct approach to painting, focusing more on color, light, shape as well as movement. These were completed ala prima in less than two hours, mixing less and applying once, with no real blending. There is a definite sense of freedom painting on Oil Paper in the field. This is a direction that I honestly feel conveys more emotional content and look forward to exploring more extensively.” Dennis Boyd
