John Giarrizzo
John Giarrizzo was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1955 and attended Kenyon College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1977. He received his Masters in Fine Arts from the University of Boulder, Colorado, in 1981 and is Professor Emeritus, Northwest College in Powell (WY). John is the recipient of several awards including the prestigious Wyoming Governor’s Arts Award in 2003. He is a Wyoming Arts Council Fellowship Recipient (1987 and 1993) and also received the Wyoming Arts Council’s Kim Baer Award in Painting in 2000. Giarrizzo currently resides in Cody, Wyoming, where he paints and works from his art studio.
Artist John Giarrizzo visited The Brinton Museum to discuss his career as a professor of art at Northwest College in Powell, WY, and the inspiration behind his exhibit, “Drawing in the Wild”.
