Jerry Salinas graduated from the American Academy of Art in Chicago with a degree in Illustation and Fine Arts where he studied with Bill Parks. He has been working as an illustrator since the mid-1990s for many ad agencies in Chicago and New York.

He balances his interest in illustration work and his love for fine art. Jerry is a member of the Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Arts, where he has studied with Romel de la Torre, Clayton J. Beck III, and various visiting artists. Other memberships include the Oil Painters of America and the American Impressionist Society.

Jerry now lives in Phoenix Arizona pursuing his passion for oil painting. Going from painting a few hours a week to several hours every day is pushing his work to a new level. He is also teaching oil painting for the Foundation Studies Program at the prestigious Scottsdale Artist School.

I paint what I see and what I know.
That comes with experience with your craft and your life.
Which is all one to me.
