The Brinton Museum will feature watercolor paintings by local artist, Randy Stout in The Northern Trust Gallery from September 7 to September 30, 2019!
An artist’s reception will take place on Saturday, September 7 from 2 pm to 4 pm.
Randy was born into the third generation of a ranching family east of Sheridan. He graduated from Sheridan High School and attended Sheridan College. His career path led him to log home building primarily in Sheridan County, but as far away as Arizona, Nevada, and Alaska. During all of his years of school, log building, and caring for his family, Randy maintained a steady interest in art. He illustrated letters, sketched on trips, and drew caricatures on greeting cards.
In the early 1990s, Randy studied watercolor with Sheridan artist Nancy Buening and it all began. Although he paints urban landscapes in England, Scotland, and Wales, finding watercolor as a means of expressing his life in the Bighorn Mountains became his focus. He has never lived further than 15 miles from the majestic Bighorns.
